Accessibility statement

Flagstaff Medical Centre is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to as many people as possible, including people who are blind or have low vision, have hearing impairments, have mobility limitations, or use assistive technologies such as screen readers.

Standards we aim for

We aim to meet the internationally recognised Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for everyone.

What we have done

• Text and background colours are chosen to provide sufficient contrast for readability.
• The site can be navigated using a keyboard, and a “Skip to main content” link is provided on every page.
• A clear, consistent heading structure and page landmarks help screen-reader users navigate.
• Images include descriptive alternative text, and form fields have associated labels.
• The site layout adapts to different screen sizes, including phones and tablets, and text can be resized using your browser.
• Visible focus indicators show keyboard users where they are on the page.

Ongoing work

We know accessibility is never “finished”. We continue to test and improve the site. Some content provided in downloadable documents (such as PDF forms) or embedded third-party tools (such as maps) may not yet be fully accessible. If you need any information from our website in an alternative format, we are happy to help.
